On October 10th and 11th Equal Justice Works will host its annual career fair and conference in Washington D.C.  This conference is a great opportunity for 2 and 3Ls to get a start on their search for public interest jobs.  The Conference will host employers from throughout the country including nonprofits and government agencies.  Students bid on attending employers and have interviews during those two days.

Not only is EJW an opportunity to meet with potential employers but also an opportunity to meet with public interest student leaders from across the country.  PILF leaders and Student Hurricane Network leaders will have space and time to meet and network as well as share ideas.  Information on the conference including employers and panels can be found at: http://www.equaljusticeworks.org/events/ccf/faq, and as deadlines approach will become more specific.

Career Services will provide 10 Hastings students with free registration for this event.  Student Services will provide funds to help students defray the cost of travel – all travel costs may not be covered.  3Ls who receive interviews may receive additional funds from Career Services.

If you are interested in attending the EJW Conference and Career Fair, please submit a statement of interest no later than Monday, August 11th to HastingsPILF@gmail.com.  Statements should address your interest in attending the EJW Conference and Career Fair, including specific employers you will apply to interview with and conference sessions you would like to attend.  Applicants will be chosen by August 29th, the final day to bid on interviews is September 12th.

Please limit statements to 1/2 a page.

Session and employer information can be found at: http://www.equaljusticeworks.org/events/ccf/general

Employer information requires “registering” for the conference through EJW’s Simplicity system.  Registration for the online system is free, and does not commit you to attending the conference.
