Thanks for all those came out to Mercury Lounge last night.  The first annual PALS “Hollaback: Fuego” Red Party was a huge success.  It was nice seeing everyone looking hot in a sea of red.  Thank you to VALS, APALSA, La Raza, BLSA, ILSA & USF PALS and others who came by and showed their support.  Until next year…Fuego!

Congratulations and thank your to all of our PALS for wrapping, frying, and selling lumpia for out Luau Beer on the Beach last Thursday.  The event was a huge success and helped us raise money for our Pil-Grad and upcoming events.  Highlights are below.

When: Saturday, October 11, 2008 / Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The event will feature several panels and current law students will be on hand to review personal statements.  Anthony Solana, Jr., President & Chairperson of For People of Color, Inc. and author of “A Guide to the Law School Application Process For People of Color,” will be conducting an admissions workshop, which will provide a comprehensive overview of the law school admissions process.  Free LSAT preparation courses will be raffled during the event.  This event is free, but registration is required.

Today, the Obama campaign released a video of Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s sister, appealing to the Filipino American Community. Soetoro-Ng opens her remarks in Tagalog, greeting the viewers “kumusta po.”

Of the two presidential contenders, Barack Obama is the only candidate to release such a statement appealing to the Filipino American community in their own language.

Another week, another BOB.  That’s right, there will be another BOB this Thursday, Sept 25th, hosted by the Pilipino American Law Society.  And boy do they have a humdinger planned.

There will be a luau theme with leis for distribution.  Lumpia will be sold, limbo will be played, prizes will be given out and a traditional Tahitian Dance will be taught.  Now that’s what I call a BOB!
